New Delhi: As per the early trends, Congress appears to dominate other parties as it leads on over 100 seats in the Karnataka Assembly Polls. With the optimism, Congress workers has started their celebrations in its Delhi headquarters.
According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) trailing behind Congress as it is leading on 61 seats while the JDS having lead on 19 seats. Independents are ahead in two seats.
Voting started on May 13 for the votes casted on May 10. As many as 2,615 candidates are running for the race to reach the state Assembly.

A Triangular Fight
The three main contendors in Karnataka are Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and JDS. The saffron party who formed the government with maximum majority in Assembly made all possible efforts to come back to retain power in the state.
Meanwhile, Congress and JD(S) wanted to use the anti-incumbency factor against the BJP and come to the power.
