New Delhi: Former Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader BS Yediyurappa said his son BY Vijayendra who is all set to make his electoral debut from the Shikaripur seat, will win with the margin of 50,000 votes in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Polls.
Talking to the news agency ANI, the BJP veteran said everybody insisted Vijayendra to contest from Shikaripur in the Shivamogga district of ths state as Yediyurappa himself is not running for the seat, owing to his retirement from the active politics.
Shikaripur is a stronghold of BS Yediyurappa who has represented the constituency for seven times and lost just once. The senior BJP leader asserted that his son will get support from almost all communities and not just the Lingayats.

Vijayendra As Chief Ministerial face: Public Demand
Responding to a demand to declare Vijayendra a Chief Ministerial face by few in the public, the Lingayat strongman said it is upto the party High Command to decide. He cannot say anything on it.
However, on Sunday, B.Y. Vijayendra faced a strong protest by the Banjara community at Taralaghatta in Shikaripur taluk. Hailing slogans against the son of former CM Yediyurappa, the community alleged that the BJP did injustice by implementing the internal reservation among the Scheduled Castes.
Owing to which, Vijeyendra had to leave the village.
During the interaction, the BJP veteran said he retired from the electoral politics and resignsed as CM as well. However, he added, people are giving him the same respect as he used to get as the CM. He said that it indicated that the BJP will return to power with absolute majority.
“Development, Development and PM Modiji’s Programme”
Former state’s CM Yediyurappa said he will not support the issues like Halal and Hijab but development and only that along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s programme. He said the party will going to win the Karnataka Assembly Poll basing on the “Modiji’s programme.”
The BJP leader also commented on Congress’ dig of “40% Sarkar” and said they are false allegations and there is no truth in it.
