Karnataka: A police station in Channagiri town, Karnataka was attacked and multiple vehicles were torched by an angry crowd following the reported death of a 30-year-old man in police custody early Saturday morning.

According to officials, the unrest started after the death of a man named Adil, who was detained by Channagiri police on May 24 for suspected involvement in gambling. Police stated that the 30-year-old resident of Tippu Nagar fell ill shortly after arrival at the station and was promptly taken to the hospital, where he later died. However, Adil’s family alleges that his death was due to torture while in police custody.
