Belagavi: In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old MBA intern was found dead in her paying guest (PG) accommodation in Nehru Nagar of Belagavi district in Karnataka. She was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her room on Tuesday evening. In their complaint, her parents have mentioned that she died by suicide in her room. The deceased had come to Belagavi three months ago in search of employment. Police have launched investigation into the case.

Speaking to ANI, Belagavi Police Commissioner Martin Marbaniang said, “The complainant has given a complaint that her daughter, aged 24 years, has committed suicide by hanging herself in her room. We have taken the case, and the post-mortem is being done. Seven items have been seized, and we will be sending them to FSL for further analysis.”

The girl was working as an intern at a reputed company. Narrating the sequence of events, police stated that she had returned to her PG after completing her work on Tuesday. After a brief conversation with her roommate, she went directly to her room. This moment was recorded on CCTV cameras of the PG. However, later that evening, the girl was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her room. Police were alerted by the PG inmates, who rushed to the site. Her body was sent for post-mortem.
Details regarding the reasons behind the incident and suicide note have not been disclosed by the police yet. The items seized from her room have been sent for forensic examination as part of the investigation. Meanwhile, further investigation is underway and updates on the case are awaited.
