Our soldiers serve with dedication in challenging terrains. However, when they face legal challenges, whether related to service disputes, pension matters, or civilian complaints, they often encounter difficulties due to geographical distances, the dynamic nature of their deployments, and the specific constraints of military life... I appreciate the Jammu and Kashmir State Legal Services Authority for taking the initiative to amend the legal aid rules to include serving and retired defence personnel."

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha says, "The Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority and the National Legal Services Authority have launched four new schemes... Many people are benefiting from this. If we look at the figures, more than 12,000 people have benefited from the various assistance schemes of the Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority in 2025. I believe that apart from the deprived sections, there are two other groups that need this—soldiers and members of the tribal community are parts of our country for whom whatever is done in terms of providing legal aid and ensuring justice is never enough."

Dras, Kargil; Addressing the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations, Chief of Army Staff Gen Upendra Dwivedi says, "We stand near Tiger Hill, Tololing and Point 4875, remembering the resolve and valour of the warriors... We salute those who sacrificed their lives so we can live peacefully... In 1999, India achieved an unparalleled victory under Operation Vijay, chasing away the Pakistani soldiers on high hill posts, and hoisting the tricolour there... Keeping up with the tradition of unbreakable Indian integrity, the army carried out precision strikes on the terror infrastructure under Operation Sindoor and attained a decisive victory, effectively retaliating and knocking down Pakistan's violent attacks... We gave a chance for peace, but they (Pakistan) acted out of cowardice, to which we answered with courage... Operation Sindoor is our resolve, message and response... Our air defence stood as a strong wall against drones and missiles..."

'Today's Children Are Largely Unaware Of The War,' Says Narayanan From Civil Defence Society

Dras, Kargil: On 26th Vijay Diwas, Narayanan from the Civil Defence Society, says, "We have been taking out Vijay Kalash since 1999... Today's children are largely unaware of the war, so this is an effort to educate them about it... We also try to help out widows of the Kargil warriors as well... On the 26th Vijay Diwas, we have the 26 Kalash containing water from 26 rivers of India... It also has the preserved flowers of the wreath laid by the Prime Minister, officers... This started from May 19th, traveled across India and came to Dras in Kargil here... This will be replacing the 25th Vijay Kalash today..."
