Kapil Sharma Cafe Firing Update: The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a criminal in connection with the conspiracy to fire at Kapil Sharma’s restaurant in Canada. The accused’s name is Bandhu Maan Singh, and he is allegedly a close associate of gangster Goldy Dhillon. Maan is a key figure in the gangster gang, with several criminal cases registered against him. During the arrest, a Chinese pistol and cartridges were recovered from Bandhu Maan Singh.
Chinese pistols, live cartridges seized
A crime branch team led by DCP Sanjeev Yadav nabbed Bandhu Maan Singh Shekhon, a key member of the Goldy Dhillon gang. A Chinese PX-3 pistol was seized. The Kaps café in Surrey was attacked three times between July and October, causing panic even though no one was injured. Sekhon is accused of supplying weapons and a vehicle to the shooters involved in the first attack on July 10, and Canadian police have already identified the vehicle used. He left Canada in August and returned to India. He was later arrested in Delhi after an arms smuggling group claimed they had provided him with weapons, leading the police to pick him up.
Who is Bandhu Maan Singh Shekhon
Sekhon is an associate of gangster Goldy Dhillon. Various reports suggest that he has numerous criminal cases against him. Goldy Dhillon and another gangster, Kuldeep Sidhu—both part of mob boss Lawrence Bishnoi’s operations—had claimed responsibility for the shootings.

A social media post taking responsibility claimed that the gangster group acted due to alleged anti-religious sentiments expressed by Bollywood personalities, warning them of potential attacks.
Shooting happened in August 2025
It was in August that around 9-10 shots were fired at Kap’s Cafe in Canada. At least six hit the walls and windows of the restaurant. Employees were inside the café when the attackers threw Molotov cocktails. Several residents heard gunshots around 4:30 am and called the police, which led to multiple police units being sent to the scene.
