In Roorkee, Uttarakhand, after the incidents in Muzaffarnagar, trouble caused by Kanwarias has surfaced again. They assaulted an e-rickshaw driver, first beating him severely and then vandalizing his vehicle with sticks and rods. Despite police attempts to intervene and reason with them, the Kanwarias ignored warnings and continued their rampage, resulting in the e-rickshaw driver being hospitalized for treatment of his injuries.
According to reports, the incident occurred near the Libberherdi canal track in the Mangalore Kotwali area. Allegations were made against the rickshaw driver for hitting a Kanwaria and damaging their Kanwar (sacred water pot), which led the Kanwarias to brutally assault the rickshaw driver initially. Subsequently, they extensively damaged the e-rickshaw using sticks and rods. During the incident, the Kanwarias continued chanting slogans in praise of Lord Shiva and amidst a large gathering at the scene. Meanwhile, the police have filed a case against unidentified Kanwarias involved in the incident.

Police Action and Community Appeal
Haridwar SSP Paramendra Singh Dobhal stated that in this case in the Mangalore Kotwali area of Libberhedi, Sanjay Kumar informed them that today his e-rickshaw accidentally collided with a Kanwaria, resulting in neither injury to the Kanwaria nor damage to their sacred items. However, despite this, the Kanwarias along with some companions physically assaulted the e-rickshaw driver and also vandalized the e-rickshaw itself. The police have registered a case and are making efforts to identify the individuals involved, taking cognizance of the incident. The SSP also appealed to all Kanwarias to understand that the entire police administration is committed to ensuring their convenience, urging them to promptly report any such incidents to the police without delay.
