Delhi Traffic Police has issued a new traffic advisory ahead of Kanwar Yatra 2025 in Delhi-NCR. The authorities announced the temporary closure of Agra Canal Road for three days starting 21 July. The section from Kalindi Kunj to Faridabad will be closed to all types of vehicular traffic until 23 July, given the safety of the pilgrims, in particular of Dak Kanwars pilgrims, due to the peak time being experienced, said the officials.
Delhi Traffic Police said in a post on X (Previously known as Twitter) that the closure is to provide a safe and uninterrupted movement for devotees walking along this route.
The notification reads, “In connection with heavy Kanwar Yatra movement, Agra Canal Road (Kalindi Kunj to Faridabad) will remain closed from 21.07.2025 to 23.07.2025.”

Also keep in mind that the Agra Canal Road (Eco Park Road) will be fully closed on those three days, and you could experience periodic restrictions and slow traffic on the Kalindi Kunj-Yamuna Bridge Road.

If you are traveling from Noida to Faridabad or Delhi, it’s best to avoid these roads while they are closed.
Alternative Routes
When travelling from Noida to either Delhi or Faridabad, you may consider taking the following detour:
– Road No. 13 from Kalindi Kunj Junction
– Take a left towards at Mathura Road or Faridabad Bypass Road
– Proceed to your destination.
Emergency Services To Stay Active
The Delhi Traffic Police will activate emergency services, allowing movement of emergency personnel, such as ambulances, fire brigades, and police units, as needed, but they also urge people to stay off these roads unless absolutely necessary.

Authorities have advised that members of the public may want to plan their journeys ahead of time, especially if they are traveling to airports, hospitals, or railway stations
– Use public transport where possible
– Follow on-site instructions from traffic officers and diversion signs

Both Delhi’s Traffic and Garuda Airports departments have appealed to the general public for cooperation in connection with the arrangements and to take an alternative route or not travel along these routes to enable smooth access for the Kanwar pilgrims.
