Kanpur: In a horrifying incident, two male teachers from a coaching institute were arrested on Saturday for allegedly raping and holding a minor girl captive for several months. The incident reportedly occurred after the victim enrolled for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) classes in 2022.
According to reports, although the incident dates back to 2023 when the victim was a minor (17), the FIR was lodged on Friday at Kanpur PS. In her complaint, the victim revealed that she had been battling depression since the incident but found the courage to report it after seeing the video of one of the accused’s arrest for harassing another student.
ACP Kanpur, Harish Chander has confirmed the arrests and the accused has been sent to 14 days judicial custody. A medical examination of the minor has been done and her statement will be recorded on Monday, as per sources.

Kanpur Police have registered a case under sections 328, 376, 344, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the provisions of the POCSO Act.
Police said that the accused invited her to his apartment for a party in January 2023. The victim went there after she was told all the students were invited but upon arrival, she found that there was no one else.
The accused raped and filmed the act after giving her a drink mixed with a sedative. He held her captive for nearly six months and allegedly raped her occasionally. She was even forced to consume ganja and alcohol and was threatened under the pretext of circulating videos and photos online, reports added.
Police informed that the minor was not allowed to attend her NEET classes during this time. She was raped by another man a few months later at a Holi party attended by the accused. The victim also alleged that the accused threatened to kill her parents and asked her to return after she went home.
In September, one of the accused was arrested for molesting another student but was released on bail later.
