A woman’s body has been recovered from near the Kanpur District Magistrate’s bungalow, four months after she was allegedly murdered. Police have arrested the gym trainer in connection with the murder case of woman missing for 4 months. The accused has been identified as Vimal Soni, a gym trainer, who confessed during the interrogation that he had buried the woman’s body in the area where government officials are allotted bungalows. The woman had gone missing on June and after investigation she was found to be dead.
After Vimal’s confession, the police went to the site and carried excavation to recover the woman’s body.
According to the police, the woman was upset over the man’s wedding getting finalised. They had heated argument over this. On the day of the crime, she had come to the gym after 20 days and they both had gone into the car where argument broke between them. Following this, the accused killed her said the police as per the man’s confession.
He revealed about burying the body when pressurized, the police said that he first tried to mislead by saying that he had thrown the body into Ganga. Police officials conducted search operation in Ganga, but nothing was found. He was then interrogated strictly where he finally revealed the murder story. He was arrested yesterday.
What Did The Police Say?
Speaking to ANI, DCP East, Shravan Kumar Singh said, “The incident occurred on 24 June. The victim used to go to the accused’s gym to train… The victim was particularly displeased about something and had a heated argument with the accused, after which the latter murdered her and buried her here… He dug a pit here and buried her body… He tried to mislead the case but when we interrogated him strictly, he revealed the truth.”
