Kanpur Dehat: Couple, 3 kids charred to death as hut caught fire

New Delhi: A family of five, including three children, charred to death on Sunday after a fire broke out in a hut in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur Dehat, informed the police officials.

The incident took place in Harmau Banjaradera village under the Rura police station area limits.

The fire engulfed the entire hut when Satish Kumar, his wife Kajal and their three children were sleeping. It burnt all of them alive. As per the media reports, the reason of the incident was a short-circuit.

As soon as the fire grabbed attention of locals, everyone rushed to douse the flames while fire tenders also reached the spot. However, the five deceased could not be saved.

Meanwhile, the mother of Satish got injured while attempting to calm the fire. She was admitted to hospital. The District Magistrate, Superintendent of police (SP) among other police officials reached the spot for an investigation.

A forensic team and dog squads were also deployed to find out the reason of the massive that killed the innocents.
