Kannur (Kerala): In a heart-wrenching incident, a pregnant woman was burnt alive with her husband after their car caught fire while they were going to hospital as the woman went into labour.

The incident took place in Kannur district of Kerala. On Thursday morning, Reesha (26) complained of labour pain.

After which, her husband Prijith (35) was taking her to hospital in 2020 Maruti S-Presso. The couple was on the front seat while four other were seated at the back one, including a child.

After the vehicle caught fire, the ones in the back managed to get out while the couple got stuck and could not open the doors.

By the time help arrived, the two were charred to death as passerbys tried to save them but failed.

An extremely disturbing video of the incident has been going viral on the social media where the chaos could be seen at the spot. The video showed people trying to help the couple but failed as they feared the car to be exploded.

The police has started the investigation in the matter.
