Kangana Ranaut Vs Vikramaditya Singh: Exit Polls Show Unexpected Trends In Mandi

Mandi Lok Sabha constituency, one of the four seats in Himachal Pradesh, now features actress Kangana Ranaut, who has recently entered politics. Transitioning from the film industry, Kangana has admitted her inexperience in this new field.

Exit polls for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections were released yesterday, showing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on track for a third consecutive victory. Many exit polls predict the BJP-led NDA securing over 300 seats. Consequently, the question arises: which party is forming the government in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi?

Mandi Lok Sabha constituency, one of the four seats in Himachal Pradesh, now features actress Kangana Ranaut, who has recently entered politics. Kangana has acknowledged her inexperience in this new field after moving from the film industry to politics. Contesting against her is Vikramaditya Singh, who has a political legacy; his father served as Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh six times, and his mother, Pratibha Singh, has been an MP from Mandi. This background makes the election battle in Mandi particularly interesting.

All eyes are on the Mandi’s seat

Voting occurred on four seats in Himachal Pradesh yesterday. On June 1, during the seventh phase of voting, all eyes were on the Mandi seat. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is contesting from this constituency. To challenge her, Congress has fielded Vikramaditya Singh, son of former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

Exit polls released last evening indicate that the BJP is likely to win all four seats in Himachal Pradesh, including Kangana Ranaut’s seat in Mandi. Virbhadra Singh, who has served as Himachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister six times, has established a strong political presence, and his son Vikramaditya Singh is seen as a significant contender. However, Kangana’s entry has made the Mandi electoral battle particularly intriguing.

Exit poll data suggests a tough fight between Kangana Ranaut and Vikramaditya Singh in Mandi. If Kangana wins, the BJP will secure a third consecutive victory in Mandi. In the 2014 general election, BJP’s Ram Swaroop Sharma defeated Congress’ Pratibha Singh by 39,000 votes and won again in the 2019 general election.
