On Monday, Kangana Ranaut, an actor and Member of Parliament, reacted to an old video on X. The video shows Muslims observing Muharram, with men dressed in white and covered in blood. Kangana called the video ‘weird and scary.’

Muharram is regarded as the second most sacred month in the Islamic calendar, following Ramadan. It is a time when Muslims mourn the death of Hazrat Imam Hussain, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad, and observe it with profound sorrow.

In response to the Muharram video, Kangana Ranaut expressed that the video was strange and frightening. She suggested that Hindu men might consider undergoing compulsory combat training to handle such situations, implying that staying alert and prepared could be beneficial given the circumstances.

Her tweet faced criticism on X for allegedly provoking Hindus by suggesting they should stay aggressive. The original video had been shared by another X user with the comment, “Q: What kind of celebration is this? Liberals and Islamists: World’s most peaceful celebration.”

On Thursday, actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut gave her first speech in Parliament, urging the Lok Sabha to preserve the art forms and cultural traditions of Himachal Pradesh. During Zero Hour, she highlighted that many of these art forms are at risk of disappearing and called on the government to take action to protect them.
