New Delhi: Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav lashed out at the law and order situation in the state after miscreants attacked Azad Samaj Party president Chandrashekhar Azad ‘Ravan’ in Deoband area of Saharanpur district. 

SP chief condemned the attack on the Bhim Army chief and alleged  Yogi government for protecting criminals.

“The murderous attack on Mr. Chandrashekhar Azad, National President of Azad Samaj Party in Deoband, Saharanpur, by criminals protected by power is highly condemnable and cowardly act. When the people’s representatives are not safe in the BJP rule, then what will happen to the general public? Jungle Raj in UP!,” tweeted Akhilesh Yadav.

Chandrashekhar Convoy attacked 

Azad Samaj Party chief Chandrashekahr Ravan Convey was attacked in Deoband area of Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. He sustained a minor injury as one bullet brushed past his waist.

Saharanpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vipin Tada said that few car-borne armed men fired at convoy of Bhim Army president.

“SSP Dr Vipin Tada says, “Half an hour back, the convoy of Chandra Shekhar Aazad was fired at by a few car-borne armed men. A bullet brushed past him. He is alright and has been taken to CHC for medical treatment. Police is investigating the matter.”

According to information, a  bullet came out touching waist of Bhim Army chief.

RLD demands arrest of criminals

Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) also condemned the attack on Bhim Army Chief and demanded the immediate arrest of miscreants. 

@BhimArmyChief The murderous attack on Ji is highly condemnable. This is proof of the anarchy prevailing in Uttar Pradesh and the law and order mess of the BJP government. The Rashtriya Lok Dal demands the immediate arrest of the culprits and to ensure security arrangements for Chandrashekhar Azad ji,” RLD tweeted.
