JP Nadda, Sharad Pawar, others pay last respect to Prakash Badal at his native place
Chandigarh: BJP president JP Nadda, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and others paid last respect to Shiromani Akali Dal patron Prakash Singh Badal at his native place Lambi.
The former Punjab CM was cremated at the family's agricultural land. Arrangements were made there for performing the last rites.
Akal takth Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh and Shiromani Gurudwara Committee chief Harjinder Singh Dhami were among the people who paid their last respect to Badal.
Praksh badal died on Tuesday at age of 95 at Fortis Hospital in Mohali.
People in large numbers gathered to pay tribute to his leader at his residence where Badal's body was kept for the last 'Darshan'.
Former minister Bikram Majitha, ex-Union minister Praful Patel and BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa also paid homage to the Akali leader today at his residence.
PM Modi and several leaders paid floral tribute to Praksh Badal at Akali Dal office in Chandigarh on Wednesday.
Parkash Singh Badal was a 4 times Chief Minister of Punjab. He served as CM in 1970–1971, 1977–1980, 1997–2002, and 2007–2017. He was also the youngest Chief Minister to hold the position in the state of Punjab.
