Jammu: Three boys drowned while taking a bath in a river in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, officials said.

Pankaj Sharma, Pankaj Kumar and Sheetal Kumar, all residents of Billawer, were swept away into the deep waters of the Bhinni river while bathing, news agency PTI quoted police officials as saying.

Upon receiving the information about the incident from locals, Police launched a search operation and fished out the bodies from the river.

Reports suggest that the boys were missing after going to school on Thursday.

A search operation, then, led by police and locals, found the dead bodies of the boys. The police have sent the bodies for postmortem and have started the investigation into the matter.
