Security forces have successfully dismantled a terrorist hideout in the Sanglan forests of Uttersoo, located in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. On Monday, a joint team comprising the Special Operations Group (SOG) Anantnag, 19 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) executed the operation based on specific intelligence inputs.
The search operation in the dense forest area led to the discovery of a hideout believed to have been used as a logistical base for terrorists. Authorities recovered a substantial cache of materials, including approximately 200 empty AK cartridges, two gas cylinders, one Chinese grenade, a Night Vision Device (NVD), bedding, utensils, and food packets. These findings underscore the hideout’s role in facilitating terrorist activities in the area.

In a related effort to combat secessionist activities, Jammu and Kashmir Police also conducted searches at the residence of a former Hurriyat members in Shopian district on the same day. This action is part of an ongoing investigation linked to FIR No. 9/2024 under sections 10 and 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
