Nine people lost their lives and 33 sustained injuries in a terrorist attack on Sunday. The incident occurred when a bus carrying pilgrims to Shivkhori in J&K, Reasi was targeted.
Officials reported that the bus, transporting pilgrims on route to the Shivkhori temple, was attacked in Teryath village in Poni area.
The rescue operation was initiated, with police, army, and paramilitary forces of deploying reinforcements to the scene. The attack signifies a notable escalation in violence in the region. Reasi district, although relatively unaffected by terrorist activities compared to neighboring areas like Rajouri and Poonch, is now facing heightened tensions.

Days after 22 pilgrims, including nine women and two children, lost their lives and 57 were injured in a bus accident in Akhnoor, the incident occurred. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office expressed anguish over the loss of lives and announced compensation of Rs. 2 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 for the injured.
