An unarmed Jammu and Kashmir Police head constable was shot dead by terrorists near his residence at Tangmarg village of Baramulla in North Kashmir.
Officials while sharing the details of terrorist attack said that “J&K Police head constable Ghulam Mohammed Dar of Wailoo village in North Kashmir, was shot near his residence, soon after the attack he was rushed to a nearby health facility, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Forces rushed to the area of attack immediately and cordoned off the surrounding areas. Top police officials said that search operation has been launched to nab the attackers, but so far there is no clue of attacker terrorists.
Jammu and Kashmir police wrote on X “Injured Police Personnel succumbed to his injuries and attained martyrdom. We pay our rich tributes to the martyr and stand by his family at this critical juncture. Area has been cordoned off. Search operation going on.”
This is the third such attack during the last three days, two days ago on Sunday, a Jammu and Kashmir police Inspector was shot multiple times from point blank range, when he was playing with cricket with co policemen in crowded Eidgah area of Srinagar. The inspector is seriously injured and battling for life in Srinagar hospital. In another incident terrorists shot dead a non-local labourer from UP in Pulwama South Kashmir yesterday.
The resurgence of target attacks in Kashmir Valley has created challenging situation for forces in Kashmir Valley. Sources said that the target attacks resurfaced in Kashmir Valley when there is change of guard in the Jammu and Kashmir, and the peaceful atmosphere of Kashmir could tremble again if such incidents doesn’t stop immediately.
