Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday said it has arrested two hybrid militants who were involved in a recent improvised explosive device (IED) blast case in Bandipora district.
According to news agency UNI, the low intensity IED blast took place between Aloosa and Kenusa in Bandipora on October 27, while an Army vehicle was passing through the area. There was no loss of life reported in the incident.
Additional Director General of Police, Kashmir Vijay Kumar said: Sopore Police has cracked the recent IED blast incident at Kenusa Bandipora.
“2 hybrid terrorists namely Irshad Ganaie alias Shahid & Waseem Raja of Kenusa Bandipora (have been) arrested,” he said, adding that two remote controlled IEDs with detonators were also recovered from them.
A case has been registered and investigation is going on, he added.
The term hybrid militant is coined by police for the militants who slip back into normal lives and have no police records.
