J&K: Kashmir University Postpones December 30 Examination Amidst Heavy Snowfall

Kashmir University has announced the postponement of exams scheduled for tomorrow due to heavy snowfall in the region.

Kashmir University has postponed all exams that were scheduled for Monday due to bad weather, University said in a statement adding that new dates for the postponed exams will be shared later.

Heavy snowfall hit Kashmir on Friday and Saturday, causing some areas in the valley to be cut off. While snow has been cleared from the main roads, work is still ongoing in some remote areas.

On Saturday, Kashmir experienced the heaviest snowfall of the season, which disrupted daily life. It affected air, rail, and road traffic, and also caused power and water supply issues.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah held a video conference with district officials to review the snow clearance efforts. Moderate to heavy snowfall was reported across Kashmir from Friday, including the first snowfall of the season in Srinagar and other plain areas.

In South Kashmir, there was heavy snowfall in the plains, while central Kashmir received moderate snowfall. North Kashmir saw light to moderate snowfall. The higher areas of South Kashmir received more than two feet of snow.
