Shrinagar: Five army personnel were martyred and four others were injured during an encounter between terrorist and security forces in Kandi area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Friday morning.
According to army officials, terrorists belong to the same group that ambushed an army truck on April 20 in which five soldiers were killed and another was injured.
Defense spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said, “In the ongoing operation in Rajouri sector, three soldiers, who were critically injured in the morning, have unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. The operation is still underway.” “Five soldiers of the Indian Army have laid down their lives during this ongoing operation in Rajouri sector,” he said.
An Army officer has been severely injured, he added.
