BJP MP Anurag Thakur accused Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, and Congress of wanting to abolish the PSA and release terrorists, drug peddlers, stone-pelters, and separatists. He suggested that their actions would regress J&K and questioned their reasons for supporting Pakistan. Thakur emphasized that the BJP is focused on peace, progress, and prosperity.
The BJP has appointed Sat Sharma as the working president of its Jammu and Kashmir unit. Dr. Nirmal Singh will lead the State Election Campaign Committee, with Sukhnandan Choudhary as vice president. Kavinder Gupta has been named the president of the State Election Management Committee.

The former Srinagar mayor and independent J&K assembly candidate, Junaid Azim Mattu, lashed out at the authorities for serving him with a notice to leave within 48 hours after he spoke on a conversion issue in Baramulla. He said the notice branded him a radical and wondered why his comments about the conversion of a young Muslim girl was controversial.
