In the second phase of polling for the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly elections, a 54.11% voter turnout was recorded by 7 PM. This phase covered multiple constituencies across six districts, including Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi, and central Kashmir regions like Srinagar, Ganderbal, and Budgam.

J&K Chief Electoral Officer PK Pole has reported significant voter turnout during the ongoing Assembly elections. The highest participation so far has been recorded in the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Katra assembly constituency with 79.95%, and polling is still ongoing in some areas.
In Reasi district, which has three assembly constituencies, voter turnout stands at 74.14%, the highest among districts. Poonch follows closely with 73.78%, Rajouri at 69.85%, Ganderbal at 62.63%, and Budgam at 61.31%. In Srinagar, voter turnout is at 29.24% as polling continues in some stations.

Despite ongoing terror activities in the past three years, the people of Rajouri and Poonch districts in Jammu and Kashmir have continued their tradition of actively participating in elections. Known as the Pir Panjal region, these districts, along with Reasi and central Kashmir areas like Srinagar, Ganderbal, and Budgam, are voting in the second phase of the three-phase elections on Wednesday.
Voter enthusiasm was clear as residents, including those near the Line of Control (LoC), began lining up early at polling stations. Officials reported that polling in these sensitive areas was progressing peacefully, reflecting the region's commitment to shaping the future government of Jammu and Kashmir.
