Srinagar: The Indian Army and Kashmir police, in a joint search operation, recovered several arms and ammunition from Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla on Thursday.

In a statement, on Friday, the Indian Army said that based on specific inputs, a search was conducted in the area in which two AK rifles, two pistols, Narcotics and war-like stores were recovered.

“Joint operation launched by Indian Army & Jammu and Kashmir Police on December 1. On receipt of specific inputs, a search was conducted in the area. Two AK Rifles, two Pistols, Narcotics & war-like stores recovered,” the statement read.

Security forces foil infiltration attempt in Uri

A joint team of security forces had foiled an infiltration attempt in Uri area North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. They were also looking for a way to smuggle arms and drugs from across the Line of Control (LoC).

The security forces have recovered two AK-74 Rifles, two AK Magazine, 117 rounds, two pistols, two pistol magazines and ten packets of suspected contrabands.
