J&K: Army Captain Among Two Soldiers Killed In IED Blast In Akhnoor, Anti-Terror Operation Underway

The incident occurred during a routine patrol along the fence in the Laleali area, resulting in the immediate fatalities of the two soldiers, identified as Captain KS Bakshi and soldier Mukesh.

Tragedy struck the Indian Army on Tuesday as an Army Captain and another soldier lost their lives in a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion near the Laleali area in the Akhnoor Sector of Jammu district, close to the Line of Control (LoC).

The incident occurred during a routine patrol along the fence in the Laleali area, resulting in the immediate fatalities of the two soldiers, identified as Captain KS Bakshi and soldier Mukesh. The Army’s White Knight Corps took to the micro-blogging platform X to announce the unfortunate news, stating, “Suspected Improvised Explosive Device blast reported in Laleali in Akhnoor Sector during a fence patrol resulting in two fatalities. Own troops are dominating the area and search operations are underway.”

In response to the blast, army officials confirmed that troops are actively dominating the area and conducting thorough search operations to assess the situation and eliminate any further threats. An army spokesperson emphasized that security forces are on high alert, with additional reinforcements deployed to ensure the safety and security of the region.

“The security forces are conducting search and combing operations to maintain peace and order in the area,” the spokesperson added.
