Jio Hotstar is giving this free subscription to users who already had a free subscription to JioCinema or Disney+ Hotstar. The subscription plan for JioHotstar starts at ₹149.
Reliance Jio has launched the JioHotstar platform just before the IPL and ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This new OTT platform is created by merging JioCinema and Hotstar. The company has made the website live and has also rebranded its existing apps on Android, iOS, and smart TVs.
Along with the launch of JioHotstar, the subscription plans are now available. The company is offering free subscriptions to some users. Here, we will tell you about the users who are getting the free subscription.
Who Gets Free JioHotstar Subscription?
Reliance Jio is offering free subscriptions to its new OTT platform, JioHotstar, for many users. However, this is available only to users who meet the company’s conditions. Here’s more information about who can get the free subscription.
If You Have a Disney+ Hotstar Subscription
Users who already have a Disney+ Hotstar subscription are being offered a free JioHotstar subscription. They will also get all the services that came with their old subscription. For example, if a user has only one month left on their subscription, they will get one month of JioHotstar for free.
If You Have a JioCinema Subscription
Just like Disney+ Hotstar, users who have a monthly or annual JioCinema subscription are also being given a free JioHotstar subscription.
With Mobile or Broadband Plans
Users who get free access to Hotstar or JioCinema through their mobile or broadband plans will continue to get the same benefits with JioHotstar.
How to Check Your JioHotstar Plan
If you already had a JioCinema or Disney+ Hotstar plan, and now that it’s merged with JioHotstar, you can check your subscription status easily. First, log in to JioHotstar using your phone number or email. Once logged in, you will see your subscription status.
Additionally, users who had set up auto-pay for their JioCinema subscription will have it canceled. This means once your current subscription ends, you will need to buy a JioHotstar subscription, and you can enable auto-pay for that.
