Jharkhand: In a shocking incident in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, a 30-year-old school van driver was arrested for allegedly raping a three-and-a-half-year-old nursery student, according to police. The young girl, who attended a private English medium school, told her parents about the assault after complaining of stomach pain, leading them to file a police report.
The driver, named Jaishree Tiwary, was arrested by the police. He is accused of committing the crime in Jamshedpur’s Mango area on Friday. The victim’s mother filed a report on Saturday, and the police arrested Tiwary within three hours.
Medical Check-Up Completed, Judicial Custody Secured
Jaishree Tiwary, the accused from Daiguttu, was arrested by a special police team from the Mango police station, according to Superintendent of Police Rishava Garg. Garg also stated in a press conference that the three-and-a-half-year-old victim had undergone a medical check-up and that Tiwary was sent to judicial custody by Sunday.
The victim returned home from school on Friday, complaining of stomach pain and told her parents about the assault by the school bus driver. After receiving the FIR from the parents, Senior Superintendent Kishore Kaushal formed a special police team and directed them to arrest the driver under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
School Van Seized, Charge Sheet Promised
A female police officer was sent to the victim’s home to gather details about the incident before the driver was arrested. SP Garg mentioned that the school van involved had been seized and assured the victim’s family that the police were treating the case with utmost seriousness. He promised that a charge sheet would be filed within a week.
