Jharkhand: In a horrifying incident on November 8, a 25-year-old man allegedly strangled his live-in partner to death and chopped off her body into 40 pieces in Khunti, Jharkhand. Police have arrested the accused identified as Naresh Bhengra who works as a butcher.
The crime reportedly came to light on November 24 after a street dog was found with human remains. The two were living together in Tamil Nadu for two years but Bhengre returned to Jharkhand later. Things took a dark turn after the reports revealed that the accused married another woman there. He even went back to Tamil Nadu but didn’t disclose his marriage to the victim. They returned to Khunti on November 8 after the victim pressurized him.

“The brutal incident occurred on November 8 when they reached Khunti as the accused who had married another woman did not wish to take her home. Instead, he took her to a forest near his house at Jordag village in Jariagarh police station and chopped the body into pieces. The man has been arrested,” TOI quoted Khunti Superintendent of Police Aman Kumar as saying.
Inspector Ashok Singh who handled the case investigations said the man ran a butcher shop in Tamil Nadu and was ‘an expert in slicing chicken’.
“He left the victim’s body parts in the forest for animals to feast on after chopping her into 40 to 50 pieces. The officials recovered several parts after a stray dog was found in the area with a hand on November 24,” Singh added.
“The man took his live-in-partner to Khunti in an auto-rickshaw close to his residence and told her to wait for him. He later returned with sharp weapons, raped and strangulated her with a dupatta before chopping her body into 40 to 50 pieces,” Singh said.
Police also found a bag from the crime scene which contained the woman’s belongings including her Aadhaar card. Her mother was called to identify her daughter’s stuff, who suspected the accused to be the murderer.
