Jharkhand, Maharashtra Assembly Election Results 2024 Reactions LIVE: The biggest festival of democracy – elections – is finally drawing to a close as the counting of votes from the recently held assembly polls in Jharkhand and Maharashtra is underway. The counting process began at 8 AM on Saturday, November 23, under the vigilant supervision of the Election Commission, with the nation eagerly awaiting the final results.
Maharashtra saw the tussle between the Mahayuti and MVA. Mahayuti is made up of the power and politics of BJP, NCP-Ajit Pawar, and Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena. Whereas, Maha Vikas Aghadi consists of Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and the NCP-Sharad Pawar. Maharashtra recorded a voting percentage of 65%, the highest since 1995.
Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024–
The election polls suggest that the “Mahayuti” alliance, is on track for a significant victory, and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the BJP, is poised to dominate the state’s politics.
Amid all this the attention is shifting to who will become the next Chief Minister. BJP spokesperson Pravin Darekar has suggested that Devendra Fadnavis, a prominent BJP leader, may assume the role of Chief Minister. While Shiv Sena’s Sheetal Mhtare has expressed support for Eknath Shinde, the current Shiv Sena leader, to continue in the position.
This competition between the two will shape the future political dynamics of Maharashtra.
Jharkhand Assembly Election 2024-
Jharkhand has its prominent candidates, Chief Minister Hemant Soren, his wife Kalpana Soren, and his sister-in-law Sita Soren from the JMM. Whereas, BJP leaders in the second phase included former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi. Other political leaders on the battleground include assembly Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahto (JMM), AJSU Party chief Sudesh Mahto, and Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri.
