Ranchi: A girl who was set on fire by a boy as she turned down the romantic proposal of the latter, died on Sunday while undergoing treatment.
Shahrukh Hussain, the accused, torched fire after pouring petrol on the victim while she was sleeping on Tuesday night.

After which, the victim Ankita started yelling out of pain and gathered her family. On seeing Ankita in an injured condition, they immediately rushed her to Dhumka hospital.

However, she was then referred to RIIMS Ranchi owing to her critical condition.
Shahrukh had taken the horrific step after Ankita refused to talk to him. The accused even threatened to kill Ankita. However, the police have arrested Shahrukh.
After the horrific incident, members of Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and public staged several protests.
