Ranchi: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren on Friday initiated the first air ambulance service from the state capital Ranchi to other parts of the country.
According to an official, the state took an aircraft of Redbird Airways on lease to start service. CM Hemant Soren flagged-off one of the kind services from Ranchi.
Speaking to media persons on the occasion, Soren said “The service is an effort to provide timely better treatment to seriously ill person.”
As per information, it would charge between 3-8 Rakh rupees for service to places such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Lucknow and Tirupati.

The Jharkhand civil aviation department has set up a cell for the air ambulance service. It can be reached through phone calls and emails.
The civil aviation department informed us that the cell has received more than 250 enquiries about the service.
The Chief Minister said his government intends to establish helipads around major roads so that more people can be benefitted.
The air ambulance service will also be initiated from other districts very soon, CM said. The fare would be around Rs 1.10 lakh per hour for other districts.
