Jharkhand had its polling in two phases. First phase was on November 13 and second was on November 20. The counting of votes is currently underway in Jharkhand.
As per the current update by ECI, JMM-led INDIA bloc has crossed the majority mark. On the other end BJP-led NDA is in the trailing stage.
JMM-led INDIA bloc is which is leading with 56 seats, which include, JMM with 34, Congress with 16, RJD with 4 and CPI (ML) (L) with 2. Whereas, BJP-led NDA alliance is leading with 24 seats, which includes, BJP with 21, Lok Janshakti Party(Ram Vilas) with 1, Janata Dal (United) with 1 and AJSU Party with 1.
The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) contested in 68 seats, whereas its allies contested in following number of seats- All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) with 10 seats, Janata Dal (United) with 2, and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) with 1. On the other end opposition Alliance is led by CM Hemant Soren’s JMM, which fielded candidates for 41 seats, while the Congress contested 30, Rashtriya Janata Dal 6, and the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) 4.
The fight is for 81 seats in Jharkhand election. As the result is yet to come, but as per current trend the JMM-led INDIA Bloc is having a clear mark of forming the government in Jharkhand.

Prominent candidates in the elections are CM Hemant Soren, Wife of Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, Hemant sore’s sister-in law Sita Soren representing JMM in the election. On seeing the BJP’s end there is Former CM Babulal Marandi, Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Ravindra Nath Manto and LoP Amar Kumar Bauri.
