Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024 Phase 2 LIVE Updates: Voting for Phase 2 of the Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024 has begun today. The voting is taking place across 38 constituencies in 12 districts of the state. A total of 528 candidates are in the fray for the 38 seats in this phase, including 55 women and one third-gender candidate and 472 male candidates.
The first phase of the Jharkhand polls was held in 43 of 81 assembly seats on November 13. The results for all 81 constituencies will be declared on November 23, alongside those for Maharashtra Assembly elections and bypolls across several states.
Polling began at 7 am in the morning and will conclude at 5 pm, barring some polling stations, where voting will conclude at 4 pm. Over 1.23 crore voters, including 61.0 lakh women, are eligible to cast their votes.
Prominent candidates in the fray include Chief Minister Hemant Soren, his wife Kalpana Soren, and his sister-in-law Sita Soren from the JMM. BJP leaders in the second phase include former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi, Assembly Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahto (JMM), AJSU Party chief Sudesh Mahto, and Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri.
A total of 14,218 polling stations have been established across rural and urban areas to ensure smooth conduct of the elections.
Out of 38 constituencies, eighteen constituencies in the final round are in the Santhal Pargana region comprising six districts, Godda, Deoghar, Dumka, Jamtara, Sahibganj and Pakur.

Kalpana Soren, JMM candidate for Gandey assembly by-election, said, "This is the first time after the formation of Jharkhand that the women in the state have been given their respect that they deserve...Hemant Soren has been working very well as a young Chief Minister. They (BJP) do not want to talk about development, they only want to talk about division. We are going to form our government in the state."

Hemant Soren wrote open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, “Please read this letter today, Every big and small BJP leader came and went to campaign in Jharkhand. But no one has ever claimed our rights, our children's future fund. “BJP does not want this money to come to Jharkhand and be used for the development of Jharkhandis. But we will take our rights…” added Soren.

Amar Kumar Bauri said that he is positive about BJP’s win in the Jharkhand Assembly Elections. “The atmosphere that has formed here is amazing. I think rivals are dejected and have accepted their defeat even before elections,” said Bauri.
