This marks the third attack in Kashmir on non-local labourers in the past week. A labourer hailing from Bihar was shot dead in J&K’s Shopian district on October 18 by the terrorists. In a separate attack on Sunday evening, seven individuals were killed, including a doctor from Budgam and five non-local labourers.
According to the officials, the terror attack occurred at a camp primarily housing labourers and staff working on the Z-Morh tunnel project. Terrorists opened fire indiscriminately, leaving two laborers dead at the scene, while five others succumbed to their injuries later. Among the killed workers were a doctor, mechanical in charge, safety in charge, planning department, etc. The workers were believed to be having food in the mess when two terrorists barged in and fired on the staff indiscriminately.
One of the two attackers who carried the deadly attack has been captured in CCTV footage. In the pictures circulating online, the attacker can be seen holding AK series rifle with blue tag.
