Jammu-Kashmir: Man Arrested For Using Fake Yatra Card At Baltal Base Camp Of Amarnath

The accused has been identified as Shivam Mittal, son of Krishan Mittal, a resident of Dwarka Puri, Jagadhri, District Yamunanagar, Haryana.

In a crucial effort to maintain the integrity and security of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2025), the Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested an individual at Baltal, base camp of Amarnath Yatra, for attempting to use a counterfeit Yatra Registration Card to gain unauthorized access through security checkpoints.

The accused has been identified as Shivam Mittal, son of Krishan Mittal, a resident of Dwarka Puri, Jagadhri, District Yamunanagar, Haryana. According to Police officials, Mittal had acquired the forged Yatra Card through fraudulent means and attempted to mislead security personnel, thereby circumventing the essential security verification process.

In response to this incident, an FIR No. 13/2025 has been registered under relevant sections of the law at the Police Station Sonamarg. Authorities have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter to uncover any further implications.

The JK Police officials said that strict legal action will be pursued against anyone engaging in such unlawful activities. They urged the general public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior or individuals attempting to use fake or invalid Yatra registration documents.
