Jammu and Kashmir: In a shocking incident that unfolded recently in Jammu’s Amb Gharota area, a man was arrested for brutally attacking his wife. Police said that the accused, identified as, Sadaq Hussain, allegedly assaulted his wife Noor Jahan. The incident came to light after a complaint was filed on March 9 by Nusrat Kousar from Pamali Jandyal against her father-in-law and three other individuals.
Accused Drags Wife Into Room & Attacks Her
The complainant told Amb Gharota Police that her father-in-law Sadaq Hussain cut his wife’s legs while she was on her way to the fields. According to reports, the accused dragged his wife into a room and attacked her. The other three accused have been identified as Nazir Ahmed, Noor Begum, and Mumtaz Bibi. The FIR further mentioned that two other people Mubarak Hussain and Saber Hussain later threatened Nusrat, the complainant, with severe consequences.
Video Sparks Public Outrage
A video of the horrifying incident has also gone viral on social media platforms. It shows Sadaq Hussain brutally beating his wife with a lathi. The event has sparked public outrage, meanwhile, the police have assured a thorough probe and strict legal action against all those involved.
Weapons Recovered From Crime Scene
Police took prompt action and filed an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following the complaint. Accused Sadaq was taken into police custody after persistent efforts. Reports revealed that in light of his disclosure, two weapons – a danda and a kulhari (axe) – were recovered from the crime spot. Efforts are currently underway to track down other accused individuals, while the main accused is in police remand.
