In a decisive move to combat terrorism and maintain national security, the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted extensive raids at approximately 20 locations across South Kashmir today. This operation targeted sleeper cell modules suspected of engaging in anti-national activities and propagating extremist ideologies.
The coordinated raids, part of an ongoing investigation linked to an earlier registered case under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, resulted in the seizure of significant incriminating materials. Several suspects have been apprehended and are currently undergoing further questioning to uncover deeper links to terrorist networks.
According to a police spokesperson, the individuals targeted in this operation are believed to be closely associated with terrorist terrorist outfits such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad. They have allegedly been involved in online radical propaganda, operating under the direction of terrorist commanders, thereby posing a serious threat to the sovereignty and integrity of India.
The preliminary investigation indicates that these groups are not only conspiring to disrupt public order but are also inciting communal hatred and disaffection among the people.
