In a first-of-its-kind operation ahead of the Amarnath Yatra 2025, Jammu and Kashmir Police used facial recognition technology to detain a terrorist over-ground worker near Pahalgam. The suspect, previously booked under a 2005 FIR, was caught at a security checkpoint through the newly deployed Facial Recognition System (FRS). This tech-driven breakthrough highlights intensified surveillance and heightened security measures to ensure a safe pilgrimage for all devotees.

In a major security development ahead of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2025), Jammu and Kashmir Police detained a terrorist over-ground worker (OGW) using a newly implemented Facial Recognition System (FRS) near Pahalgam in Anantnag district.
