Jammu And Kashmir: Three Dead As Car Plunges Into Chenab River In Doda

Body of 70-year old woman has been recovered. The woman has been identified as Poorvi Devi. As per DSP Mukhtyar Dev Singh all three of them were locals of Kandote.

Three people died as a car falls into Chenab river near the Prem Nagar situated in Jammu and Kashmir. The incident happened around 8:30 am. The incident has been reported involving the two elderly persons and a youth in the car.

Body of 70-year old woman has been recovered. The woman has been identified as Poorvi Devi. As per DSP Mukhtyar Dev Singh all three of them were locals of Kandote.

All three were heading towards Doda. The accident took place on a 40-foot wide road. Army has recovered the van. NDRF,SDRF and Police administration are on the spot.

According to DySP of Traffic, Mukhtiyar Dev Singh, “At around 8:30 am, at Kandote between Prem Nagar and Thathri, an accident has been reported involving two elderly persons and a 25-year-old youth in a car. They were going to Doda, but the accident happened from the wrong direction, and that too on a 40-foot-wide highway.”

He also said that, “Army recovery vans, NDRF, SDRF and police administration are all doing their job…Investigations are on as to how this accident happened from the wrong direction, and despite being on such a wide road.”

He mentioned that,”We have recovered the body of 70-year-old woman Poorvi Devi. It is being said that all three victims are local of Kandote.”
