In a tragic incident, nine people were killed and several others were injured in a fire that broke out following a collision involving multiple vehicles. The incident was reported from the Bhankrota area in Jaipur, Rajasthan on Friday. Efforts are underway to douse the fire.
The incident occurred after collision between a CNG truck and another truck, which resulted in explosion in the CNG truck. Passengers on the bus quickly evacuated, saving their lives. Over a dozen people were injured and burnt in the fire. The injured were rushed to the hospital.
Firefighters, Civil Defense, police, and local residents came together to rescue people trapped in the vehicles. The incident took place near Bhankrota, on the Decathlon Road, at around 5:30 AM.

Rajasthan CM Expresses Grief
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed grief on the tragic incident. He wrote on X, “I am deeply saddened to hear the sad news of casualties of citizens in the gas tanker fire incident on Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway. As soon as the information about the incident was received, I went to SMS Hospital and directed the doctors to provide immediate necessary medical facilities and take proper care of the injured. Rescue work by the administration is continuing. The local administration and emergency services are working with full readiness. I pray to God to grant the departed souls a place in his supreme abode, give the bereaved families strength to bear this immense loss and provide speedy recovery to the injured.”

Doctor Calls It A ‘Severe’ Accident
Speaking to ANI, SMS Medical College Principal, Dr Deepak Maheshwari says, “4 people have died in the incident. 24-25 people have been admitted to the ICU. More people are coming. Many people have been injured in the incident. It is a severe accident…”

Jaipur DM On Accident
Jaipur District Magistrate, Jitendra Soni said that around 40 vehicles caught fire. He added, “4 people have died. Around 40 vehicles caught the fire. Fire brigade and ambulances have reached the spot. The relief work is underway. The fire has been doused off and only 1-2 vehicles are left. Around 23-24 people have been injured in the incident.”
