New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rajeev Chandrashekhar Wednesday accused that Karnataka has become a safe place for “criminals and crimes” under “Rahul Gandhi’s Congress government.”
“It was shocking that Karnatak just in a few months has gone under Rahul Gandhi’s Congress government, it becoming a safe haven for criminals and crimes.”
In a self-shot video, union minister lashed out at the state government over an alleged murder of Jain monk. Calling it a “brutal murder,” Chandrashekhar stressed that the law and order in the state has deteriorated soon after the Congress came into power.
” This recent brutal murder of Jain Muni Kamkumar Nandi Maharaj is shocking… The police and the government swinging into action only after repeated protests of the BJP shows the kind of state that Karnataka is surely and slowly becoming a safe haven for these types of criminalities.”
Listing out a few incidents, including the death of CEO in a Bengaluru company and alleged rape of a police constable by her colleague, the union minister said “Karnataka is a safe place as long as target are these people who belong to a particular religion or faith.”

He also accused the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government of “appeasement politics.”
After being missing for two days, the police found chopped body parts of the Jain monk on Saturday. He allegedly went missing from his ashram in Hirekodi village of the Belgaum district.
As many as two people were arrested in the case, including the prime accused on the same day and confessed to the crime. A number of protest broke out across the state following the incident.
