The 'Snake Man', Jay Kumar Sahni, from Bihar's Samastipur, died after a poisonous snake bite him. As per reports, Sahni has been involved in saving people's lives by rescuing snakes for the last five years.
He was known as the "Messiah Of Snakes" across the district, with videos of him catching snakes gaining popularity on social media.

According to media reports, till now, he has rescued over two thousand snakes. On Wednesday, Jay reached the nearby village where a poisonous snake was seen. He started trying to rescue the snake, but during this process, the snake bit him on the thumb of his right hand.

Shortly after the incident, his health began to worsen. With assistance from family members and villagers, he was taken to a nearby hospital, which later referred him to Sadar Hospital. Dr. Santosh Kumar, stationed at Sadar Hospital, stated that by the time Jay Kumar Sahni arrived, it was already too late - poison had spread throughout his body, and he had passed away before reaching the facility.
As reported by NDTV, Jay was fond of animals since childhood. He got into this field without training. Jay used to spend hours catching snakes and then leaving them in a safer place. Jay got married 13 years ago and has two sons. Apart from this, there was a younger brother of Jay in the family.
