New Delhi: An IT professional from Pune has been arrested on Monday alledgely for issuing death threat to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar.

The Mumbai Police official informed that the accused named Sagar Barve was an empployee at data feeding and analytics section of private company.

The official informed that the Mumbai Crime Branch has brought the accused to Mumbai where he was presented in the court. He added that the court has given custody of the accused to the police till Tuesday.

As per the police, the accused has posted death threats against the NCP chief on Facebook. For which, he had created two faek accounts on the social media platform.

Taking threats into consideration, Maharashtra Cheif Minister Eknath Shinde immediately beefed up the security.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said there might be ideological differences but a threat to a prominent Oppositon leader will not be tolerated.
