ISRO To Launch European Space Agency’s PROBA-3 Mission Satellites On December 4

The time for the launch is 4:06 pm. The mission will have Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C59) carrying satellites.

Indian Space Research Organization had made an announcement regarding the launch of PROBA-3/PSLV-C59. They have announced that the satellite will lift off on Wednesday, December 4. The launch will take place at Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR located in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

The time for the launch is 4:06 pm. The mission will have Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C59) carrying satellites. The weight of the satellites will be around 550Kg.

The PROBA-3 is an “In-Orbit Demonstration mission” by an European Space Agency.

The space organization said about the mission that, “The PSLV-C59/PROBA-3 Mission, the 61st flight of PSLV and the 26th using PSLV-XL configuration, is set to carry ESA’s PROBA-3 satellites (~550kg) into a highly elliptical orbit.”

ISRO also mentioned that, “”The mission goal is to demonstrate precise formation flying.”

The mission will have two spacecrafts. The name of the two spacecrafts are Coronagraph Spacecraft and the Occulter Spacecraft. This will launched together.

The PSLV-C-59 is having four launching stages. It will lift around 320 tonnes of mass.

The Space organisation also mentions how the launch mission also exemplifies the “trusted precision” of the PSLV and collaboration with other agencies.
The last launch of the PSLV was the PSLV-C58.
