ISRO has rescheduled the launch of PSLV-C59/PROBA-3. The new date of the launch is Thursday, December 5, 2024. Earlier, the launch was scheduled to happen on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. The time of the launch was 4:06 pm.
ISRO made an announcement regarding the reschedule of the launch and mentioned that, “Due to an anomaly detected in PROBA-3 spacecraft, PSLV-C59/PROBA-3 launch has been rescheduled to tomorrow at 16:12 hours.”

The PROBA-3 is a “In-Orbit Demonstration mission” by European Space Agency. According to ISRO, “The mission goal is to demonstrate precise formation flying.”
As per the European Space Agency, the aim of the mission is to demonstrate formation flying in a large-scale science experiment. Around 150-meter long coronagraph will be formed by two satellites. This will help to study the faint corona of Sun. In addition to its scientific significance, the mission will serve as a benchmark for precise positioning of the two spacecraft, facilitated by various new technologies.
As per Indian Space Research Organization the PSLV-C59 will involve in four stages. It will be carrying total 320 tonnes. PSLV is India’s first launched vehicle with liquid stages.
