Mumbai cop has debunked the fake WhatsApp message related to Ratan Tata’s dog ‘Goa’ that circulated widely across the messaging app. The message claimed the death of Ratan Tata’s pet dog, Goa. However, Mumbai Senior police Inspector, Sudhir Kudalkar has now clarified on the viral message and informed that the dog is alive. After the message was circulated, Inspector, Sudhir Kudalkar contacted the Youngest GM of Tata Trust and close friend of Ratan Tata, Shantanu Naidu. He inquired about Goa’s well-being and found that he is perfectly alright.
What Did The Message Say?
The WhatsApp message read as, “Sad news…Tatas pet dog Goa dies after 3 days of his death…That’s why they say that dogs are more faithful to their masters, than human beings!”
‘He Is Fine’ Says Shantanu Naidu
Shantanu replied, “He is fine, don’t worry. Fake News.” Sudhir then took to his Instagram and informed the same to netizens. He wrote, “A WhatsApp message is circulating about Late Ratan Tata Ji’s pet dog, Goa, passed away. I verified this with Shantanu Naidu, @suitcase_full_of_sparks who is also known as a close friend of Tata Ji and he confirmed that Goa is doing fine.”
He urged people to not spread false news. “Please make sure to verify facts before sharing posts,” he added.
Notably, Ratan Tata’s pet dog, Goa was also present during the last rites of the legendary industrialist and had paid him a tribute. His affection towards Tata had caught the attention of netizens and several videos had gone viral afterwards.
About Goa
Speaking to ANI earlier, caretaker of the Goa said, “This dog has been with us for the last 11 years. The security guards brought this dog from Goa when we went there for a picnic. Ratan Tata loved him a lot. The name of the dog is Goa since he was brought from Goa.”
He was a stray dog and had started following Tata when he was in Goa. Tata then decided to adopt him and bring him to Mumbai.
Ratan Tata was very fond of dogs and animals in general. He had opened hospital for animals in Mumbai. He supported various causes for dogs. He often posted about animal’s care and welfare on Instagram and urged people to come forward for their help. His Instagram offers one to feel the compassion and love he had for animals.
Goa is not the first dog whom Ratan Tata had kept as pet, he used to have a dog named Tito also.
