New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader KS Eshwarappa Monday kicked off a fresh controversy with his inappropriate remarks asking “if Allah is deaf.”
The BJP MLA was addressing a rally in Karnataka’s Mangaluru where he expressed inconvinience over playing Azaan on loudspeakers. He said the morning prayers give him headache.
“…But if you say that Allah listens only if you pray using a microphone, I must question if He’s deaf. This issue must be resolved,” said the BJP MLA.
“Wherever I go this (Azaan) is a headache for me. No doubt this will end soon as there is a SC judgement. PM Modi asked to respect all religions, but I must ask can Allah hear only if you scream on a microphone?” asked Eshwarappa.

The BJP MLA further added, “Hindus also pray in temples. We have more faith than them and it’s Bharat mata who protects religions.”
