International Women’s Day 2025: Every year, 8th March is celebrated as the International Women’s Day. The day is marked to honour the strength, resilience, and achievements of hardworking women globally. This day is called as a focal point in the women’s rights movement. International Women’s Day recognizes the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The theme of International Women’s Day 2025 campaign is ‘Accelerate Action’. It aims to accelerate action to achieve gender equality.

Nirmala Sitharaman

Nirmala Sitharaman is an Indian politician and a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She has been serving as the Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs of the Government of India since 2019. She is a Rajya Sabha member and represents Karnataka. She previously served as the 28th Defence Minister of India (2017 to 2019). Sitaraman has presented the union budget 8 times. This makes her second minister after Moraji Desai to present the most number of budgets.
Sonia Gandhi

Sonia Gandhi is an Italian-born Indian politician. She is the longest-serving president of the Indian National Congress. She took over as the party leader in 1998, seven years after the assassination of her husband and Former PM Rajiv Gandhi. In her career so far, Sonia has presided over the advisory councils of rights-based development and welfare schemes as the Right to Information, Food Security Bill, and MGNREGA.
Mamata Banerjee

Mamata Banerjee is a notable name in Indian politics. She is currently serving as the chief minister of West Bengal. She founded the All India Trinamool Congress in 1998. Mamata previously served as Minister of Railways twice, becoming the first woman to do so. She is credited for various reforms in the education and health sectors in West Bengal.
Vasundhara Raje Scindia

Vasundhara Raje Scindia is an Indian politician and BJP leader. She held two terms as the chief minister of Rajasthan. Raje received the “Women Together Award” from the UNO for services towards the self-empowerment of women in 2007. She has also received the ‘Best Chief Minister of the Year’ Award at the 52nd Skoch Summit in 2018.
Diya Kumari

Diya Kumari is a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and currently serving as the 6th Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Diya owns and runs a foundation, named ‘Princess Diya Kumari Foundation.’ The foundation focuses on women empowerment through social entrepreneurship.
